North Clay school board members this week agreed to issue $4,050,000 in working cash fund bonds, and to issue another $8.4 million in bonds with that revenue being used to pay off older, higher-interest bonds.
What isn't needed to pay off the older bonds will be used for improvements to district buildings. The work is expected to help connect the buildings on the Louisville campus, and has been discussed in some cases as long as 20 years.
The North Clay board also adopted the tax levy for the new fiscal year; approved a workshop request for Kelsey Toland; discussed but then tabled action on the district's Return to School plan for the school year; and discussed experiences with the Illinois State Board of Education process and plan for responding to future mandates. The matter was visited only for discussion; no action was taken.
North Clay board members approved an extended leave of absence for Lacey Sowers, who is currently on leave, and accepted the resignation of Mary Ann Brown as a fulltime bus driver, effective this week.
