A list of questions prepared by the Effingham County Board's Ambulance Oversight Committee was sent Thursday to each of the three vendors seeking to provide 911 ambulance service in the county. The questions were finalized at a special meeting Wednesday night.
The responses from the vendors...Abbott EMS, Rural Med, and Lakeside EMS...are due back by 4pm on Tuesday, October 26. The committee will then meet at 6pm on Wednesday, October 27 to review the answers and decide where they go from there.
The committee hopes to make a recommendation to the full county board as soon as possible to get the contract awarded. The goal is to allow for an orderly transition should the contract go to someone other than existing contract holder Abbott EMS.
The County's current contract with Abbott expires in April 2022.
