Dieterich Working on 4th of July Plans

The Village of Dieterich is working on 4th of July plans.

Dieterich Village Clerk Brittny Gipson said activities are planned on both July 3 and 4. Since the 4th is on a Sunday, and a morning event on the 4th would conflict with church activities, a 4th of July 5K run will be held at 7:30am on Saturday, July 3.

Events locked in for the evening of the 4th are a parade at 6pm and the annual fireworks display at 9:15pm. Gipson said there would also be food trucks the evening of the 4th, and said a beer garden is a possibility.

The plans were shared at the recent Dieterich Village Board meeting.

The Board also approved payments on various projects around Liberty Memorial Park including a pavilion, fence work, parking area, and tennis courts. Also approved by the Board was committee assignments for the next three years, and hiring K&A Lewis Construction to install a concrete roadway on the east half of Loda Street by Old Mac's for $9,300.
