Washington Savings Bank is warning customers that someone has visited homes pretending to be a bank employee and attempted to retrieve personal information.

This is a scam.

A statement from the bank says:

--Washington Savings Bank WILL NOT call you for personal information OR make house calls

--Washington Savings Bank DOES NOT solicit money over the phone

--Please be aware of scammers and NEVER give out any personal information

The bank message goes on to say their calls or text messages will only ask you to verify debit card transactions; they will never ask for your passwords, account numbers, or any other confidential information.

If you ever question the call you receive, please contact the bank and they will confirm the legitimacy of the caller.
