Two trucks and a SUV were involved in a collision just after 5pm Wednesday on Illinois Route 33, a quarter mile east of Pembroke Street in Effingham.
State police report the trucks were driven by 59-year-old Mark Meylor of Effingham and 52-year-old Steven Durbin of St. Elmo, while the SUV was driven by 24-year-old Taylor Newlin of Robinson.
Meylor and Durbin were stopped in traffic from an earlier crash at Willow and Pembroke in Effingham when Newlin's SUV sideswiped Meylor's truck and rear-ended Durbin's truck.
Newlin received what were termed minor injuries and was taken by ambulance for treatment. Newlin was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash.
Details on the earlier crash are not yet available. That crash also involved multiple vehicles, and injuries were reported.
