The CEFS Effingham County office will have a representative available to take LIHEAP (energy assistance) applications for the low income elderly (over 60), disabled, and families with children five and under at the following locations and times:
--Beecher City Kluthe Center Tuesday, October 21st, 2014, 9am till noon
--Dieterich Community Civic Center Thursday, October 16th, 2014, 9am till noon
--City of Altamont Municipal Building Thursday, October 23rd, 2014, 9am till noon
--Mason Civic Center Tuesday, October 28th, 2014, 9am till noon
Items needed at the time of application are proof of all household income for thirty days prior to the application date, Social Security cards for all members of the household (or a Birth Certificate for children who do not have a card yet), proof of age for children five and under (medical card or birth certificate), and current gas (or propane) and electric bill.
Households whose energy source has been shut off will need to apply at the local office. The CEFS Effingham County Outreach office located at 202 North Banker, Effingham, IL is open from 8:30am till 4:30pm, Monday through Friday or call (217) 347-7514.
